Where every planet is right now, by sign and degree, plus today's active aspects and what they mean for your sign. Calculated from real astronomical transits each time you open the page — not generic sun-sign fluff.
This page answers one question first: where are the planets today? The table below shows the current planetary positions — Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, with the sign and exact degree each one occupies right now — followed by today's planetary aspects and a daily overview for each of the 12 zodiac signs. Positions are computed from an astronomical ephemeris in your browser, so what you see is the sky at this moment, not yesterday's snapshot. The live table changes every day for the Moon and every few weeks for the inner planets, but the outer planets move so slowly that their sign placement is the same for months or years. These are the positions that stay fixed through the rest of 2026 and into early 2027, so you can read them without checking the table:
The next Mercury retrograde of 2026 runs from October 25 to November 15 in Scorpio. When Mercury is retrograde, the live table shows it moving backwards through the degrees from one day to the next.
Each row of the table gives a planet, the zodiac sign it is transiting, and its degree within that sign (0° to 29°). The sign tells you the style a planet is working in today; the degree tells you how far through that sign it is and, when two planets sit at nearly the same degree in compatible signs, that they are forming an aspect. Here is what each planet's position is used for in a daily reading:
Sun — moves about one degree a day and changes sign roughly every 30 days. Its sign is the season's theme and the reason "your sign" is the Sun sign. When the Sun is in your sign, you are in your solar return month.
Moon — the fastest body, changing sign every two to two and a half days. The Moon's sign today sets the emotional weather: what people are in the mood for, what feels urgent, what feels off. Most of the day-to-day variation in a daily horoscope comes from the Moon.
Mercury — communication, thinking, travel and paperwork. It stays close to the Sun, spends two to nine weeks in a sign, and turns retrograde three times a year.
Venus — attraction, taste, money and relationships. About a month per sign; its sign today colors what people find pleasant and how they connect.
Mars — drive, effort and friction. Six to seven weeks per sign. Mars's sign shows where energy is being spent and where tempers run short.
Jupiter and Saturn — the "social" planets, about a year and two and a half years per sign. They rarely change in a daily table, but when the Moon or an inner planet aspects them, that is usually the most important event of the day.
Aspects — the angles between planets: conjunction (0°), sextile (60°), square (90°), trine (120°) and opposition (180°). The aspects list shows which of these are exact or close today. Squares and oppositions bring tension and pressure to act; trines and sextiles bring ease; a conjunction fuses the two planets' themes.

1. Live sky — We calculate where the classical planets are right now using astronomical ephemeris data.
2. Sign focus — Each forecast orients to your Sun sign as a quick daily lens. Rising and Moon signs refine timing and mood further in a full chart.
3. Hellenistic depth — For career, love patterns, and annual timing (profections, Lots), use the free natal chart and optional full reading.
Where are the planets right now? The table at the top of this page lists the current sign and degree of the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn, recalculated from ephemeris data every time the page loads. The slow outer planets are listed in the section above and stay in the same signs through early 2027.
How often do planetary positions change? The Moon changes sign every 2–2.5 days, the Sun, Mercury and Venus roughly monthly, Mars every 6–7 weeks, Jupiter about once a year, Saturn every 2.5 years, and Uranus, Neptune and Pluto every 7 to 20 years.
Is a planetary overview the same as a daily horoscope? A daily horoscope is the interpretation for one sign. A planetary overview is the raw sky everyone shares — the positions and aspects — from which each sign's forecast is derived. This page gives you both: the overview first, then the 12 sign readings.
Is this free? Yes — daily sky, aspects, and sign guidance are free. Optional paid reports unlock deeper written analysis.
Why does my day feel different from my Sun sign? Transits hit houses and planets unique to your birth chart. Your Rising sign often describes the “weather” of the day better than Sun alone.
What is Hellenistic astrology? The original Western horoscopic system (Whole Sign houses, sect, dignities, Lots) practiced for over 2,000 years — the foundation AstralWise uses for charts and timing.
