What are planetary transits?
Planetary transits refer to where the planets are right now in the sky and how they interact with the positions of planets in your birth chart. When a transiting planet forms an aspect (conjunction, trine, square, opposition) to a natal planet, it activates that area of your life, triggering events and inner shifts.
Why do I need my rising sign for transits?
Your rising sign determines your house system — which areas of life (career, love, money, health) each zodiac sign rules for you. Without it, we can only show general planetary positions. With your rising sign, we can tell you exactly which life area each transit is activating.
How long do planetary transits last?
It depends on the planet. The Moon changes signs every 2.5 days, Mercury every 2-3 weeks, Venus about a month, Mars 6 weeks, Jupiter about a year per sign, and Saturn about 2.5 years per sign. Outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto) can spend 7-20+ years in one sign.
Which transits are most important?
In Hellenistic astrology, Saturn and Jupiter transits carry the most weight. Saturn brings restructuring, tests, and maturation. Jupiter brings expansion, luck, and opportunity. A Saturn transit through your 7th house (relationships) or 10th house (career) will be one of the most defining periods of your life in that area.
Is this based on real astronomy?
Yes. Our planetary positions are calculated using astronomical formulas for the actual positions of planets in the tropical zodiac. These are the same positions used by professional astrologers worldwide, derived from orbital mechanics.
